Your VinterActive hosting account has several powerful options for controlling suspected spam or unwanted email messages. How you use these options will most likely depend on how you normally access your email.

If you normally access your email account via our webmail interface, we recommend you activate the spam filter available for your webmail account. To change spam settings, log-in to your webmail account directly via http://hosting.vinteractive.com and click the Spam Filter menu at the top of your control screen. By default, this spam filter is turned off. We recommend trying the "Normal" setting that adds suspected spam to a special folder so you can review it occassionally for potentially 'good' messages. The sensitivity of this system may be fine-tuned as desired.

If you normally access your email through a desktop program like MS Outlook, we recommend you leave the spam filter turned off on your server & instead let Outlook sort the mail for you. This way you won't have to log-in to webmail if you want to see what's in the spam folder & your webmail spam folder won't grow to an unwieldy size.

For the most ruthless elimination of spam, set the spam filter on your webmail account to high & have filtered messages automatically deleted from your system. This will likely delete a few legitimate emails from time-to-time, but it should also eliminate nearly any spam from reaching your inbox.
